Navy's Fiscal Year 2015 Budget Proposal
The budget is part of the $495.6 billion defense budget President submitted to Congress.
It is the Navy and Marine Corps budget .
Combatant Commanders' demand for naval forces is claimed to continue at very high levels according to Navy.
FY 2015 budget submission prioritizes funding for forward presence and
continues to make critical investments in people and future capabilities.

The proposed budget sustains presence by providing money for
ξ ship steaming
ξ light hours
ξ maintenance and
ξ base operations

It funds amphibious ready group and carrier strike group deployments,
supports the three ballistic missile defense (BMD)-capable destroyers
joining the USS Donald Cook (DDG 75) in Rota in FY15, and
provides continued support for the rebalance to the Pacific,
with $46.8 billion overall in operations and maintenance.

Additional investments are proposed for retaining Sailors through the Quality of Service initiative.
The Navy seeks to reduce manning gaps at sea and improve the sea-to-shore flow of personnel.

The Navy has also requested $38.4 billion for ship, aircraft, weapons and other procurement for programs including
ξ Littoral Combat Ship,
ξ P-8A Poseidon aircraft,
ξ Virginia class submarines and
ξ the Mk-48 heavy weight torpedo

Research and development priorities include
ξ the Ohio-class replacement submarine,
ξ next generation jammer and
ξ Unmanned Carrier Launched Airborne Surveillance and Strike (UCLASS),
ξ as well as developing electromagnetic spectrum and cyber capabilities

The Navy FY15 budget is a $15 billion decrease from the level forecast in 2014 budget submission and is
a $38 billion reduction over the Future Year Defense Plan from the FY14 Presidential Budget.

~ UAV Budget for Fiscal Year

»UAV Budget for FY 2015
The Defense Department is seeking $2.45 billion in fiscal year 2015 funds
for unmanned aerial vehicle acquisition and research,
15.8 percent greater than the fiscal 2014 UAV budget.

The U.S. military plans to procure both the Northrop Grumman-built RQ-4 Global Hawk aircraft
for imagery and signals intelligence gathering and
the MQ-4 Triton maritime surveillance vehicle for $855.79 million combined.

The Pentagon has also proposed
ξ $607.1 million in funding to purchase 12 General Atomics MQ-9 Reaper aircraft and 12 ground control stations
ξ $270.1 million in MQ-1 Predator spending for FY 2015.

DoD also wants to spend $403 million on the Unmanned Carrier-Launched Airborne Surveillance and Strike,
a U.S. Navy program to launch a UAVs from a carrier that has a scheduled draft request for proposal release for later 2014.

Military officials have also requested
ξ $145.2 million for RQ-7 shadow UAV
ξ $96.7 million for the MQ-8 Fire Scout unmanned helicopter,
ξ $17.7 million for the RQ-11 Raven and
ξ $14.5 million for the Boeing-built Insitu RQ-21 Blackjack integrated with small tactical UAS.

Proposed spending for future UAV research and development totals
ξ $35.9 million for FY 2015 and
ξ $2 million for UAV sensors and payloads
