ξ the sponge titanium production line is imported by Luoyang Xin'an electric power group Co.Ltd
ξ is a futher working project of sodium products, belonging to Metal Na factory under Group Co. Ltd.
ξ This imported production line is a high-tech project.
ξ After project implementation, it will fill in the gaps in producing sponge Ti by Na reduction in China.
ξ Using Na reduction to produce sponge Ti, it is easy to make sponge Ti into Ti powders.
ξ As this sponge Ti contains low Fe and Nitrogen etc impurities,
ξ it is suitable for refining high-purity metal Ti products and
ξ makes contributions to the development of chinese space, aviation and national defence industries.

1. Market analysis of project products
ξ The sponge Ti named for its surface looking like sponge is the basic material to produce metal Ti.
ξ To make it into Ti bar and billet etc metal Ti products by further refining.
ξ To make it into Ti powders by mechancial grinding.
ξ Metal Ti has excellent physical properties with high-strength (1.5 times steel's),
ξ corrosion-resisting (never rusted) and
ξ small changing coefficient of high-low temperature difference.
ξ It is important material of aviation, space and national defence industries.
ξ In civil industries, it is widely used in manufacturing chemical equipment, nautical equipment, electronic material, power facilities, sports apparatus and medical apparatus instruments etc.
ξ At present time, there are only eight sponge Ti producers in the world, each two for USA, Japan CIS and China.
ξ According to 1996 survery, the global production ability of sponge Ti is 117300 tons, the actual output is 59800T.
ξ The global market demand of sponge Ti.
ξ USA is the largest producer and customer of Ti products in the world, yearly market demand is 34500T, besides 23000T supplied by itself, the imported Ti si 19100T.
ξ Ti products of USA and west-Europe is mainly used in aviation industry.
ξ With developing of world aviation, the global demand of Ti is averagely increased at 5% per annum.
ξ The development of our Ti industry is slow.
ξ Ti is used in war industry at beginning.
ξ Now there are Zunyi and Fushun Ti producers in china, the output is low, actual output in 1997 is 2210T and all is made by Mg reduction.
ξ As the shortage of sponge Ti in the world market, the price is raising.
ξ In 1993 USA market, one ton costs 7200 USD.
ξ In 1997, it goes up to 8000--9950 USD per ton.
ξ In domestic market, one ton 64000 RMB.
ξ The Ti powders is also the hard-to-get goods in the international market.
ξ Now first class Ti powders price is 17500 USD per ton.

Comparing with Fushun, Zunyi tow domestic producers, our sponge Ti production line has a larger competitive advantages:

1. Big output.
ξ After our production line completion, production ability is 5000T/year, first stage is 2500T/year,
ξ it will be the largest producer in China.

2. Comparing Na reduction whith Mg reduction mode by high-vacumme evaporation,
ξ Na melting point is low (98°C),
ξ easy continuous operation,
ξ saving investment the technology is simple and reliable.
ξ There is salt layer between Na and heating reduction tank.
ξ It's easy to separate.
ξ Mg melting point is high (680°C), continuous operation difficulty investment big, production line long,
ξ Mg and wall of heating reduction tank bond together tightly, hard to separate.

3. self-made raw material is available.
ξ Our company annual Na output is 2500T.
ξ After reformation, output will reach to 5000T up.
ξ In first stage, it is not necessary to buy Na from outside.
ξ The price and transportation cost are low.

4. Export channel open.
ξ Our company has received an intention of ordering goods from RMI Co. the largest Ti working plant is USA.
